During the last few days’ hot weather, several drowning accidents have occurred.
On Wednesday, the rescue service was called to a beach in Skutskär when a person was drowning. Fortunately, nurse Madeleine Johansson was with her husband on the beach and they made a heroic effort.
“Completely uncontactable”
– When my husband comes up from the bath, I see that he is carrying a child and it does not look normal. I run towards him and he is in shock. The girl he was carrying was completely lifeless and uncontactable, she says.
Madeleine acted quickly and performed CPR until she felt a pulse and heartbeat. The girl’s parents came forward. And then also the ambulance, where she was taken for further checks.
– I think about her around the clock, says Madeleine.
