In Madagascar, a fire destroyed many homes and businesses in Andavamamba, a working-class district of Antananarivo, early on Sunday, August 11, leaving around sixty people homeless and one woman injured. They all lived in wooden huts, stuck together, illegal constructions that are highly exposed to the risk of fire. Every year, this type of incident is repeated during the dry season. The inhabitants are divided between resilience and despair.
