Mad Bike launches two upgraded versions of its Urban 2

The French cycle brand The Mad Bike returns to center stage with a significant update for two of its electric bikes headlights: Urban 2 and Sport 2. The former is designed on a semi-open frame that makes installation easy, with curved handlebars and an adjustable stem to provide a straight and comfortable pedaling position. As its name suggests, the Sport 2 opts for a straight frame that induces a more lying position. It is available in sizes 50 and 55 while the Urban 2 is available in sizes 45 and 50.

Both models are mounted on 27.5 inch wheels and use the same 45Nm electric motor in the rear hub. The integration of the battery (removable) in the lower tube of the frame allowed to refine the design which gains in smoothness. Its capacity has been increased to 460 Wh against 375 on the first generation Urban and Sport models. L’autonomy maximum announced goes to 70 km against 50 km previously. The Brooks saddle and grips in leather and tires beige sides add a nice vintage touch. On the scale, the two VAE display a small 18 kg, which is rather light for electric bikes. The Urbain 2 and the Sport 2 cost the same: € 1,990. They will be available at the start of January 2022.

The Vélo Mad designs and assembles its electric bikes at La Manufacture Française du Cycle located in Machecoul in Loire-Atlantique. The company has chosen an eco-responsible production, with the use of reconditioned batteries and powder paint (avoids toxic evaporations) without solvents of French origin.
