The Macron couple would have signed a promise to sell for their family home in Touquet. The president and his wife did not act lightly.
Emmanuel and Brigitte Macron Have a house in Touquet-Paris-Plage. Villa Monéjan, located in the city center and offering at least 250m² of living space, belonged to the family of Brigitte Macron, its name coming from the contraction of the first names of her parents, Simone and Jean Trogneux. The house is kept all year round by armed gendarmes, even if the couple only go there a few weeks a year, especially when they have to vote for an election. However, the couple would like to sell it and have found a buyer. Nathalie Forest, director of the local real estate agency Le Touquet Sotheby’s, said to the Figaro That “everyone knows it in the touquet even if there is only the Élysée which takes care of this sale for reasons of discretion”.
However, the sale would not be officially confirmed but La Voix du Nord evokes a promise to sell signed with a businessman “for an amount of 3.7 million euros”. It does not only concern the house but also the real estate agency on the ground floor and the neighboring clothing store, whose traders paid rents to Macron. Christophe Lemesre, who has just rented the premises on the ground floor for 20 years, told France 3 :: “My wife received an SMS from Madame Macron that we will have to pay the rent to someone else.”
The house being at the center of attention when the presidential couple went there, they would have preferred to get rid of it to overcome this lack of intimacy. It also has several vis-à-vis and a double entry. Securing would be also complicated to manage. “The Macron have a very simple life in Touquet, they go to the Indian restaurant, go for a walk on the beach. Brigitte Macron eats pancakes. They are very attached to the station, it is the stronghold of Brigitte Macron but they have Very precise criteria in the district they are looking for and want calm, “added Nathalie Forest.
It could therefore be that the couple does not leave the touquet and already seeks another good. According to several real estate sources with La Voix du Nordthe couple would like to get closer to the sea and a house would correspond well to their criteria: a boulevard building of Doctor-Jules-Pouget in red bricks, fitted out on several floors. Such residences can reach staggering prices, around 14,000 euros per m², or even more.
