Emmanuel Macron will attempt a final step towards the French before the European elections of June 9, 2024. Will this gamble be enough when the Renaissance list led by Valérie Hayer finds itself threatened like never before by that of Raphaël’s Socialist Party Glucksmann?
Thursday June 6, three days before the European election, Emmanuel Macron will speak on the set of TF1 and France 2 during a television news show relocated to Caen (Calvados). While only one point now separates the Renaissance list of Valérie Hayer from that of Raphaël Glucksmann, of the PS – Place publique alliance, according to the Harris Interactive survey for Challenges, M6 and RTL, the Head of State wishes, a once again, regain control, in a campaign for European women which continues to become more complicated for the majority.
The Renaissance candidate reached 14.5% of voting intentions and the second, Raphaël Glucksmann, 13.5%. On the other hand, according to the latest survey Ifop-Fiducial analyzes for LCI, Le Figaro and Sud Radio, the gap is a little larger: 15.5% for Renaissance, which loses half a point, against 14% for the Socialist Party. In any case, the Macronie list remains very far behind that of the Rally led by Jordan Bardella, credited with 33.5% of voting intentions. This is why the President of the Republic intends to try one last gamble before the fateful date of June 9, 2024.
“I have to do everything”
“If we are around 15%, I don’t see how nothing can happen. Gabriel Attal will have no other choice but to resign. For other sources close to the matter, still with Le Parisien, nothing should happen before the budget vote in the fall with a motion of censure which could overthrow the government. Moreover, if the defeat is bitter during the Europeans, with a scenario of less than 15% of the votes for Renaissance or a third place, behind the list of the PS – Place publique, “it will be hellish for him” judges a strategist of the left.
