Stuffed animals and flowers accumulate on Île-Saint-Quentin in Trois-Rivièreswhere the body of Alexandra Martine Diengo Lumbayi was found on Tuesday October 8. It had been six days since the 21-year-old administration student disappeared. One of his roommates had dropped him off by car at Île-Saint-Quentin on the afternoon of October 2, and the surveillance cameras of this urban park recorded his passage. Since then, there has been no news from the young woman.
A heartfelt call for help
Worried about her disappearance, the friends of this sociable and bright young Congolese woman, enrolled at university for a yearset out to look for him. From Kinshasa, her mother launched a vibrant appeal for help, which was widely shared on social networks. In vain. It was ultimately a kayaker who made the macabre discovery by finding a body half-submerged in a river which flows into the St. Lawrence River.
Since then, the police have been investigating, while inviting the public to be wary of the numerous false information circulating on social networks.
