Olli Määttä and Kaapo Kähkönen debuted in their new clubs in the NHL.
There was news yesterday Olli Määtä about the transfer from Detroit to Utah in the hockey league NHL. Now Määttä was already playing for his new team, the NHL rookie club Utah Hockey Club, when Utah beat Calgary 5–1.
Määtta immediately got more than 20 minutes of playing time. There were no power points, just as there have been none for Määtä all season.
The goalkeeper who transferred to Colorado Kaapo Kähkönen played his first game in goal for the Avalanche. Kähkönen’s start at the new club was rough, as Tampa led 3–0 when the match had only been played for 5:32. They were responsible for the goals Nikita Kucherov, Jake Guentzel and Conor Geekie.
After this, Kähkönen conceded one more goal. Tampa Bay won 5–2, but scored the last goal into an empty net.
Taking over as Colorado’s number one point guard Justus Annunen followed this match from the stands. Mikko Rantanen got one assist. It remained the Finns’ only strong point in the round of the night.
