M wants to see new nuclear power plans at Ringhals

The moderates want the state energy company Vattenfall to immediately start planning for an expansion of the nuclear power plant in Ringhals.

Vattenfall is the majority owner of the power plant outside Varberg, where two of a total of four reactors have been closed in recent years.

The moderates believe that Vattenfall itself should be allowed to decide whether it wants to invest in traditional reactors, or small-scale modular reactors (SMR) in the expansion. A feasibility study should start immediately, the Moderates believe in a press release.

At the beginning of June, M announced that it wanted to invest SEK 400 billion in credit guarantees for the construction of new nuclear power.
