The moderates want, if they win the election, to steer Vattenfall in a new direction. The state energy company is proposed to become a leader in the expansion of “plannable, fossil-free electricity production”.

Electricity prices are at record highs and according to the Moderates, the solution is nuclear power.

The party has several proposals to get more nuclear power, among other things they want to change the environmental code so that it is allowed to build new reactors in more places, have more than ten reactors in operation at the same time and that more actors than the current owners are allowed to invest in new nuclear power .

The moderates believe that Vattenfall should be a leader in the work to ensure that Sweden has “a stable, robust and predictable energy supply”.

Therefore, M wants to appoint a new cabinet group with the task of managing Vattenfall and protecting nuclear power.
