The moderates in Stockholm want to quickly test children in vulnerable areas for ADHD.
The party emphasizes that it is a voluntary examination where the children can be tested for BVC from the age of five and then several times during school time.
The party refers to the fact that children with an immigrant background are medicated for ADHD to a lesser extent than Swedish children.
According to the Prison Service, there is also a connection between ADHD in childhood and violent crime later in life.
The proposal has quickly received criticism. Ebba Östlin, social democratic municipal board chairman in Botkyrka municipality, calls it out of touch with reality.
Lena Nylander, senior physician and specialist in general psychiatry at Lund University, is also skeptical of the proposal and thinks it is better to focus on a good and safe school.
