M member Ellen Juntti loses her committee seat

The moderate Riksdag member Ellen Juntti loses her place in the civil affairs committee, reports Everything.
The announcement comes after she voted against the party’s line on the issue of the gender identity law.
“J
ag I don’t regret it!, she writes on X

Juntti voted against the party leadership last spring, but has since continued with his work in the committee – until today. Now the Moderates announce that she has left her post.

– It is a consequence of her violating the rules of procedure of the Riksdag group, says Amos Friedman, press manager at the Moderates, to the Alting.

Juntti himself has commented on the announcement on X.

“As punishment for voting no to the change of legal gender for 16-year-olds, I am leaving the civil committee,” she writes in a post on the platform.

Furthermore, she writes that she does not regret the decision.

“Sometimes you have to make decisions even when you realize that it has negative consequences,” she continues.

Social Democrats had to leave

Even the Social Democrat Patrick Björck chose to go against the party’s line on the matter of the gender identity law this spring. Shortly thereafter, he had to leave his seat on the tax committee.

Ellen Juntti is still a deputy in the justice committee.

TV4 News is looking for Ellen Juntti.
