In a new scientific article from Nordicom researchers Agnes Liminga and Jesper Strömbäck investigated all critical posts, which aim to reduce the legitimacy of the media, from all Swedish members of parliament who had an account on Twitter during the period 31 October 2020 to 31 October 2021.
Of the total of 2,244 posts in question, it turned out that the M and SD members together accounted for 89 percent.
The most diligent of them all was Lars Beckman (M). The moderate Member of Parliament was alone behind 47 percent of the examined posts.
Behind him came Robert Stenqvist (SD) and Björn Söder (SD).
Of all types of media, public service is the one most often criticized. In general, the most common criticism is about alleged bias and, in second place, low quality of the content.
At the same time, the researchers note that most members of the Riksdag express criticism of the media to a much greater extent than support.
