Touched by lung cancer at the beginning of the year, Florent Pagny was treated with chemotherapy sessions. He gives his news by explaining that he is much better today but that he is waiting to be “at the top of his form to sing”. Insights from Dr. Alexis Burnod, head of the pain, support and palliative care mobile team at the Institut Curie in Paris.

It was Saturday evening, in a new issue of the show Taratata presented by Nagui, on France 2 that the singer gave his news. Fans of Florent Pagny were able to get a brief glimpse of their idol who addressed the audience of the show in a short video, broadcast by Nagui.

Florent Pagny has indeed declined the invitation of the host, who explains: “Initially, we wanted to do a concert with him, Florent called me and explained to me that things were getting better and better, that he was very optimistic, but that he wanted to be in top form before singing. For him, October was a bit early.”

    Rest in Patagonia

In the video, we can see Florent Pagny in a sublime landscape of Patagonia, in South America. “I would have liked to be with you for an evening like this, to support and mobilize against cancer, especially since I am widely concerned now” did he declare. “Precisely, I am so concerned that I am in this phase of fitness”.

“Normally if all goes well, next year we would finally all meet together, to sing together and to look for donations, since it is individual donations that allow development and research”he added. “And it’s starting to bear fruit since, as you can see, I feel better and better, it’s because the programs are working better and better. I miss you a little bit”

“Illness is a time of change”

Recall that last January, Florent Pagny announced that he was affected by lung cancer, which has since been treated. The transition period experienced by Florent Pagny is a special moment, located after his acute treatment phase but before full physical and mental recovery.

“The cancerous disease is a moment of weakening for people going through this ordeal. Although current treatments are more and more advanced, there are still many chemotherapy treatments that weaken, weaken and tire the people who must receive them.“says Dr. Alexis Burnod, head of the pain, support and palliative care mobile team at the Institut Curie in Paris.

“Patients go through a period of weight loss, hair loss… A whole series of changes that are disrupting both physically and mentally. This is the period that Florent Pagny is currently going through, I imagine, and it takes a few more months to regain and complete this period of rehabilitation”.
