Luna, 10, was assaulted in Skellefteå – the family’s collection after the act of violence brought in 2.6 million kroner

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

The assault in Morö Backe in Skellefteå in the summer of 2022 received a lot of attention. The girl who was assaulted by the 15-year-old boy is Lunawho has now turned 10 years old.

After the trial about the attempted murder and the aggravated rape, the family has previously told through their aunt about the crime and the anger that the school and social services did not intervene against the 15-year-old boy until it was too late.

On December 14, the 15-year-old was sentenced for aggravated rape of a child and attempted murder to forensic psychiatric care with a special discharge examination by the Skellefteå district court. Here you can read more about the event in its entirety.

Lunas can no longer speak

In an earlier interview with Aftonbladet In December 2022, the family told us that Luna can no longer talk, move or eat by herself after the assault she suffered last summer. She suffered life-threatening injuries and is still in hospital.

– Luna is still perfectly fine. She has both good and bad days. So we take each day as it comes. We all long until we can live at home as a whole family together again. It’s very tiring to be as divided as we are now that Luna lives in the hospital, Luna’s mother said in a previous interview with News24.

The family started a fundraiser in 2022

Luna can move a little from the shoulders up but is in a wheelchair, but other voluntary movements are difficult. The future is uncertain and Luna’s mother says that the family’s focus is now on being present with her daughter.

The family started one collection at the end of 2022, where money would go for everything Luna will conceivably need now and in the future. Nyheter24 previously wrote about the collection and everything about Luna’s new everyday life here.

– Among other things, the money will go towards buying a car adapted for the disabled so Luna can ride in her wheelchair, says Luna’s mother.

“Lost his entire lifetime income”

The collection, which has now ended, brought in over 2.6 million kroner, reached all of Sweden and thousands of people have contributed with gifts and greetings in addition to money.

– I will try to make a folder for Luna so that in the future she can hopefully sit and browse and get all the greeting messages, says Luna’s aunt in an interview with SVT and continues:

– In some way, she has probably lost her entire lifetime income.
