Both Pär Lernström and the jury members expressed surprise that the participant Lukas Söderholm had to leave Idol in the sixth Saturday final.
Anders Bagge reacts strongly to the announcement. After the program, he says that he did not think it was Söderholm’s turn to leave the program.
– I can’t really digest it. It’s one of the times in my 15 years of Idol where I feel like “wait, what happened here?”. There must have been some crunch in the voting, he says.
“Something is not right”
In the program, Bagge said that Lukas Söderholm made one of the best performances of the evening, when he sang “Bra för dig” together with Louise Lennartsson from Estraden.
– I thought he delivered vocals better than ever. Something wasn’t right, it didn’t feel right. He would have been one of those who sat safely, he says.
Mosally: The viewers are wrong
The remaining jurors were also surprised by the result.
– I’m empty. This was so wrong, said Katia Mosally in the program.
Peg Parnevik chimed in and said she was “a bit in shock”.
– The viewers are wrong, said Katia Mosally.
Even the presenter Pär Lernström was taken when Lukas Söderholm had to leave the program. He had difficulty holding back tears in the broadcast.
– I don’t know if it has ever been like this before, that you have felt this way. There have been many occasions where it has been understood that the idol itself is ready, but as you yourself say, I don’t think you were really ready, he said to Söderholm in the program.
Viewers rage against the vote
During the evening, TV4 play had technical problems, which meant that it was not possible to vote through the TV4 Play app, but only by phone and SMS. Something that several viewers believe contributed to the result.
“But no, the worst result, no one is responsible for this, it’s just because the voting is off,” writes one person in TV4’s “Idol” chat.
“Also in shock! How can Lukas not move on? Sick,” writes another.
Malin Knave, executive producer for “Idol”, regrets the voting problems.
“Normally, we have three possible ways to vote, telephone, SMS, and play voting. Today, only two of these worked, which we were very clear about saying in the program. Whether the outcome would have been affected by this cannot be said,” she writes in a comment.
