Lukas Hradecky didn’t think the Olympic Stadium pitch was great. Markku Kanerva’s position is talking in Finland, but after the game, England’s head coach also attracted attention.
The Finnish men’s national football team lost for the fifth time in a row, when England beat Huuhkajat 3–1 at the sold-out Olympic Stadium.
England is one of the best national teams in the world and is last summer’s European Championship silver medalist.
Finnish captain Lukas Hradecky according to Huuhkaj, the company was not caught on Sunday. Hradecky said that Finland played well. Only the result was bad.
– Today we gave as much as we could to the camp. We played with big heart. The journey continues. Will a new era come or not? It doesn’t matter. Let’s always continue the same tasks on the field. Let’s fight for Finland, Hradecky said and referred to the Pohjoikaarte chant that came in the middle of the interview.
Hradecky made the defense different compared to before, which worked well against England.
– The line of three worked well, Hradecky said, referring to the three toppers played by Finland.
Then the captain of the Finnish national team brought an external matter to the Huuhkajie’s good hands on Sunday.
– Playing with the ball was challenging. It was seen in England as well. The field was not great today, Hradecky continued.
So what does the captain think about the future in the Finnish national team? Finland will next face Greece at home and Ireland away in November.
According to Hradecky, no one will be allowed to hide in the Finnish team in the future.
– The situation is difficult. That was even before entering the European Championships. It was a bad year behind. It always started from somewhere. The head as the third leg has to do work. At some point, points and wins will surely await, Hradecky referred to the acquisition of the historic European Championship venue five years ago.
Finland’s goal scorer Arttu Hoskonen described feeling tired. Hoskonen scored an elegant goal Leo Walla for the corner kick at the end of the match.
– The tank is empty after this game. It was a better game today than the away game against England. Chances were created, but it wasn’t enough, Hoskonen said and continued the comparison with the mid-September match at Wembley.
At that time, England dominated the game and won 2–0.
– We were able to improve playing with the ball. Pressed quite well at times. We didn’t have to defend from our own penalty area as much as last time, Hoskonen compared.
Hoskonen was in his element again, like in the away game against England. According to his own words, he could have played better.
– There have been difficult games. Now let’s analyze them. Head up and towards new matches.
The England coach was heavily grilled
Huhkaji’s head coach Mark heather the position is hotly debated in Finland.
England interim head coach Lee Carsley on the other hand, raised eyebrows in his home country when he made an interesting comment in an interview with the British broadcasting company BBC right after the match against Finland.
Carsley described to the BBCthat the job of England head coach requires a world-class coach who has won trophies. According to Carsley, he’s just getting there.
Carsley was asked for clarification on the comment at the Olympic stadium’s uumeni in England’s press conference. Carsley was asked if he therefore meant that the England manager’s job would come too soon for him.
– Not really. I tried to make it as clear as I can. I was trying to say that this is one of the top jobs in the world. It deserves a top coach. This team has a chance to win, Carsley continued in a still cryptic tone.
Carsley was heavily grilled at the press conference in the Olympic stadium. He was asked about his position in many different ways.
He was asked, for example, why he is so reluctant to say whether he wants to be England’s permanent head coach or not.
– I have an open mind. I’m not reckless then. I thought carefully about how the team would play and what kind of team I would choose. Team selection is difficult, Carsley described and referred to the extent of England’s material.
He also justified his line with his previous experiences of being open-minded with his previous experiences when he has been in the role of interim coach.
Carsley came to Washington from the position of head coach of the England men’s national team under 21 years of age. A year ago, he led England to the age group European champion.
The win against Finland was important for England and Carsley in the sense that they suffered a surprise defeat against Greece in the previous game.
– I don’t know the players well enough in the sense of how they react to a loss. I was thrilled with how they responded. This was the sign of a good team. We dominated the game. We scored good goals. It’s a shame we couldn’t keep a clean sheet, Carsley stated.
