Finnish volleyball player Luka Marttilan represented by Mint Vero Volley Monza started their campaign in the group stage of the Men’s Champions League on Thursday evening with a home win against Olympiacos.
The Greek Olympiacos led the match after three sets with a score of 2–1, but the Italian team finally fought to win with a score of 3–2 (20–25, 25–20, 26–28, 25–23, 15–8).
The 21-year-old Marttila was taken on the field in the fourth inning, and in his first Champions League group stage match of his career, he achieved a performance of 5/+2.
Marttila, who plays as a general player, is one of six Finns playing in the group stage of the men’s Champions League.
