(Finance) – Klaus-Michael Kuehne84, owner of the Kuehne & Nagel logistics group, became the second largest shareholder of Lufthansa having doubled its stake, which began with the purchase of a 5% stake, bringing it to 10%, with an investment of 840 million euros.
The main shareholder of the German company remains the Berlin governmentwhich owns 14.2%.
Based on the current market price of € 6.9 per share, Lufthansa has capital of € 8.4 billion.
Klaus-Michael Kuehne is the controlling shareholder of the Swiss company Kuehne & Nagel, one of the leading logistics companies in Europe, and owns 30% of the German container shipping company Hapag-Lloyd.
