(Finance) – Deutsche Lufthansathe main German airline, announced that four of the six current members of the board of directorsincluding CFO Remco Steenbergen, they will resign by the end of June. “Having successfully navigated the coronavirus crisis, the subsequent recovery of the airline industry and the business turnaround, the Lufthansa Group is now embarking on the next phase of its business development by reshaping and realigning its Executive Board,” it said in a statement. In particular, the tenure of Harry Hohmeister and Detlef Kayser will expire as expected during the current year. Simultaneously Christina Foerster and Remco Steenbergen they will resign by the board. The size of the board will be reduced from six to five members.

Among the other appointments announced, the Italian Grazia Vittadini (today in Rolls-Royce) will be appointed as a member of the Executive Board with effect from 1 July 2024. She will hold the role of Chief Technology Officer, with responsibility for “Technik and IT” and with additional responsibility for sustainability. His mandate lasts three years.
The group’s Finance division will be headed by a new Chief Financial Officer. Until his appointment, Michael Niggemann will serve as interim CFO.
