Luffy’s grandpa proves in the new episode of One Piece how strong he really is despite his old age

In the current episode of One Piece, Garp shows what power he has. The vice admiral may be 78 years old, but he is in no way inferior to the young fighters. He uses his ultimate attack to raze part of a city to the ground.

How strong is Garp? Monkey D. Garp is Luffy’s grandfather and after the time jump he is already 78 years old. But he still has a lot to offer for his age. In manga chapter 1080 we were already able to see his Galaxy Impact attack.

Instead of a simple energy ball, we see Garp coming down to earth as a meteorite from space. His attack creates a gigantic energy wave that destroys the houses in the surrounding area.

The attack seems so exaggerated that he actually deserves a place among the strongest fighters without a devil fruit. Unfortunately, it is uncertain how Garp fared after the events on the island. But in his best days, he would definitely have made it to the top spots.

The SWORD unit must save Korby

What happens in episode 1114? One episode before For the Dear Student: The Fist of Vice Admiral Garp! was Korby had already been freed from the Blackbeard Pirates’ prison by Perona. The SWORD division of the Marines had set out to free the marine.

In the new episode, more members of the unit are introduced. One of them is Garp. He uses his Galaxy Impact to destroy part of the island where Korby was held captive. It is the base of the Blackbeard Pirates.
