There was a glimmer of Swedish stardom at this year’s Grammys when the Swedish composer Ludwig Göransson won a Grammy for best film score for the film “Oppenheimer”. Göransson had no less than five nominations and competed against himself in the category of best film score, as he was also nominated for the film “Black Panther: Wakanda forever”.
Other Swedish interests at the gala were the hard rock band Ghost from Linköping, who were nominated in the category of best metal performance, but were without a prize. The Swedish-American blues musician Eric Bibb also went without a prize in the category of best traditional blues album.
Demonstrations and deprivation of liberty
However, the awards ceremony was being delayed as pro-Palestinian protests put an end to the stars’ walk on the red carpet.
Hundreds of people protested in the rain outside the gala.
Just before the ceremony, there was a mistake when Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice were revealed as the winners in the category of best rap song with “Barbie” on Grammys X, formerly Twitter. It was appreciated by many fans as it would be Minaj’s first Grammy after being nominated 12 times previously without winning.
But in fact it was Killer Mike who won the category with his song “Scientists & engineers”.
Neither star has yet commented on the mistake.
In addition, Killer Mike, after winning three Grammys, was escorted out of the gala in handcuffs by police. It is unclear whether the 48-year-old rapper is suspected of a crime.

Angry Cyrus
Miley Cyrus sulked during her performance after receiving her first ever Grammy for Best Pop Performance, Solo, for “Flowers.” The star struggled to enliven the stiff crowd with the exhortation, “Why are you acting like you don’t know this song?!” Maybe she became a little less bitter when she then received another Grammy, for the album of the year.
Historic winner
Taylor Swift received the most prestigious Grammy for album of the year for “Midnight”. That makes her historic as the artist who received the award the most times in Grammy history.
Before tonight’s award, she shared the tally of three Grammys for Album of the Year with stars such as Frank Sinatra, Stevie Wonder and Paul Simon, but with the award this year, she ends up at the top with four Grammys.
Swift also earned a Grammy for Best Pop Album with “Midnight.” During her acceptance speech, the star revealed that her next album, “The tortured poet’s department,” will be released on April 19.
