Toronto’s Pontus Holmberg gave his team a 1-0 lead at home against Detroit, his second goal of the season. But it didn’t get much more fun for the home team and Detroit eventually won 4–2 after another Swedish forward, Lucas Raymond, scored the fourth when Toronto had taken out the goalkeeper.
Toronto’s scorer William Nylander, with a fresh billion dollar contract in his pocket, did not have a fun night. There were no points at all for him despite 20 minutes on the ice.

However, apart from the big contract, he can be happy to be one of the twelve players that the fans got to vote for in the All Star games at the end of the month. Nylander received the second most votes of all, close to 1.4 million, and the Vancouver star Elias Pettersson close to a million votes.
This means that there will be five Swedes among the 44 players during the All Star arrangements. Among the 32 players sent by the 32 teams, one each, are Nashville’s Philip ForsbergCalgary’s Elias Lindholm and Buffalo’s Rasmus Dahlin.
