Two consecutive explosions at a LPG station in Bucharest have turned the scene into a war zone. A large number of ambulances and firefighters were dispatched to the scene. Raed Arafat, Head of the Romanian Emergency Situations Department (DSU), announced that at least 1 person died and 46 people were injured, 4 of them seriously, in the explosions that occurred at the station.
FIREFIGHTERS INJURED IN THE SECOND EXPLOSION
Arafat said that 26 firefighters who tried to extinguish the fire after the first explosion were injured and taken to hospital after the second explosion.
It was stated that 4 people with a serious condition were sent to Italy and Belgium for their treatment, and the other injured were treated in hospitals in Romania.
FIRE NOT EXTINGUISHED
It was learned that the first explosion caused a big fire in the region, and the flames spread to two tanks and a nearby house. Explaining that the fire has not been extinguished yet, the authorities said that there may be more explosions due to the risk of burning tanks. It is not yet known what caused the explosion.
