Lowered the old team: "A lot of feelings"

Coach Jörgen Jönsson has assigned Marcus Sylvegård a big role in the team, in the first chain together with Kalle Kossila and Manuel Ågren.

“I must take advantage of that trust,” says Sylvegård, who is back after two years at home in Skåne.

In Växjö’s home opener, Marcus Sylvegård scored two goals against parent club Malmö.

— There are a lot of emotions, but I think I handled it well and focused on my game out there. I think it’s two easy goals, but you have to be there as well and hit them. So it was nice.

Once Växjö turned an odd-goal deficit into an odd-goal lead, Malmö had no answer to come up with.

— I think we shut them down completely, says Sylvegård.

Older brother Emil Sylvegård also made the move from Malmö to Växjö before the season.

“It’s great fun, and it’s nice for mom to be on a team when Växjö and Malmö meet,” says Marcus Sylvegård, smiling.
