According to Västerviks-Tidningen officials at the school emailed guardians of children in primary school and asked them to pick up the children.
Ankarsrum’s school is an F-9 school with a leisure center. It was the building known as Stenhuset where F-3 and recreational facilities are located that did not have working heat in the morning.
The problem with the heating was fixed during the morning, but since it takes time to heat up the old building, the decision was made to close the elementary school.
Henrik Ålstam, superintendent at the school, tells the newspaper that everything is expected to be up and running on Tuesday.
