Loui Eriksson is dumped by Frölunda.
Now the veteran talks about the big disappointment.
– I don’t respect it, he says to GP.
Loui Eriksson wanted to go to Frölunda already at the beginning of last season. But Frölunda decided not to sign a contract with Eriksson, at least initially. Eriksson finally got his contract, and during the season he managed 34 games, where he accounted for 19 points.
Dumped now
Eriksson also accounted for seven points in 13 games in the playoffs and was praised for his routine and leadership. Immediately after Frölunda left the playoffs, Eriksson was doubtful whether there would be any continuation, but in retrospect, Eriksson has been completely set on signing a new contract with Frölunda.
But now comes an unexpected announcement, and a gloomy one to say the least for the veteran. Frölunda has decided not to offer a contract.
– It is not my decision. I got the same answer as last year. I was very motivated for another year – but they wanted to go another way again, says Eriksson to GP.

Big disappointment
Loui Eriksson believes that his season was good enough to be offered an extension.
– Considering how I performed, I am absolutely disappointed. I have been clear about what Frölunda means to me as a player. I had given 110 percent all the way this year, of course. I accept their decision and wish the team the best of luck – but for that I don’t have to respect the decision, he says.
Loui Eriksson further explains that there were no discussions about any salary, but that Frölunda simply made the decision to go for other players.
– Well, but Frölunda wanted to go another way. There is no other explanation, he says.
