Several motorists have been playing “very loud” music around the Bergslagen region during the night to Sunday.
– It has really been a problem in every single part of the region, says Sophia Jiglind, the police’s spokesperson.
Police region Bergslagen, which includes Dalarna, Värmland and Örebro, has had to deal with several similar cases during the night to Sunday.
“Several callers have raised the alarm about motorists playing very loud music in several places in the county,” the police write on their website.
According to Sophia Jiglind, the police spokesperson in the region, this is a recurring problem.
– What stands out this weekend is the number of callers. It has really been a problem in every part of the region, she says.
Several checks during the night
The police have handled the cases to the extent that it has been possible in terms of resources.
– Most of the time it is enough that we are seen and drive by the place or tell the people to slow down, or alternatively depart from the place. In the worst case, there will be a fine, says Sophia Jiglind.
There is no information that fines have been handed out during the night, but several police patrols have been on the scene and talked to motorists.
– It seems that everyone has listened, says Jiglind.
– We get very good help and observations from the public. They tell you the exact places where music is played and we also have certain known “hotspots” where these people tend to gather.

Hot weather may be the cause
The warm weather may be one of the reasons behind the increased music playing.
– Now that the heat is coming, it will be a lot. It is also a culture that exists here in the region, that you go around and play loud music quite simply, says Jiglind.
