Lotta at Liseberg shuts down

Lotta has had enough of Liseberg.
Now TV4 is canceling its sing-along program – at the presenter’s request.
– Making the decision to quit was in a way easy and in a way among the hardest things I’ve done, says Lotta Engberg in a press release.

2023 was the last summer for long-distance runner Lotta at Liseberg.

Now the program closes down after two decades filled with hundreds of guests and hours of sing-alongs.

To have shared 20 years with the audience at Liseberg and 15 years at TV4 with a large sing-along audience at home on the sofas is the finest musical community I have known. I am extremely grateful for these years, says Lotta Engberg.

At Lotta’s request

The reason for the end is that the presenter himself does not want to do it anymore. A decision she describes as both simple – and the hardest she has made.

– Now I close the door but open the window wide. Because there is a Malte and a Viktor and an Alma and a Stella and an Oskar and an Arvid who all summer holidays had a grandmother who worked. Now we will make up for that time, she continues in the press release.

Jonathan Nordin is an executive at TV4.

– Lotta Engberg has decided after 20 years of Lotta in Liseberg (15 years in TV4) that this year’s season was the last from Liseberg. We will miss Lotta, but we are still looking forward to seeing her as the continued presenter of Bingolotto, he says.

Why not choose to continue with another presenter?

– We have an ongoing dialogue with Liseberg about the possibilities for new summer entertainment from the park, but right now there is nothing new to communicate.
