At the beginning of the year, the police stopped a long burglary tour in residential neighborhoods in Skåne and southern Halland. At a strike in Ängelholm, jewelry and cash were found from up to 140 burglaries. In total, these are between 350 and 370 jewelry.
– It can be one of the absolute largest burglary series we have had in Sweden, says investigative leader Rickard Pedersen.
Stolen are urged to hear
Now the police are calling on everyone in Skåne and southern Halland who had burglaries at home during the period October 2024 to January 2025 to hear from them, so that the jewelry can be returned to the legitimate owners.
– Much of the goods may not have such great economic value, but we can see the type of jewelry that they have a higher sentimental value – dip gifts and grandparents’ wedding rings, says Rickard Pedersen.
Need to supplement the police report
In order for the jewelry to be disclosed, the owners need to supplement their previous police report with as detailed description of the jewelry as possible and preferably also attach images.
The two foreign nationals arrested are arrested for burglary theft. After the arrest, the number of reported burglaries in the area drastically decreased.
