According to Emmanuel Macron, “this policy for heritage is important, because it allows our towns and villages to reconnect with their history”. The kitty of this 5th edition of the Loto du patrimoine raised funds for the Heritage Foundation, for the renovation and safeguarding of French heritage monuments. Religious, cultural, agricultural or industrial buildings from different eras, considered “emblematic sites” of our real estate heritage, 18 monuments in danger were selected by the Ministry of Culture in March 2022 to be helped in priority via the receipts of the 2022 Heritage Loto. Among the lucky winners are the Saint-Louis church in Villemomble in Seine-Saint-Denis, the former penal colony of Belle-Île-en-Mer, the castle of Quenza in Corse-du-Sud , the Italian theater of Guéret in the Creuse, or the Atlas cinema at the coves of Arlet in Martinique.

18 sites in mainland France and overseas have been given priority in the list of around a hundred monuments in danger selected by Stéphane Bern and the Minister of Culture. Here are the monuments that players will finance in 2022 by playing the Loto du patrimoine:

The selection criteria for the heritage lotto take into account the heritage interest of the site, its situation of danger, but also the quality of the safeguard project.
