Brooklyn Khoury, a 23-year-old model living in America, lost his upper lip after being attacked by a pitbull dog in 2020. After undergoing many operations, including 20-hour surgeries, in the last two and a half years, she shared her shocking new look on her Youtube and Instagram accounts and talked about the difficult process she went through.
Model Brooklyn was going to star in her first commercial in November 2020, when she was attacked by her cousin’s eight-year-old pitbull dog. The young model, who came to the house from outside, stated that as soon as he approached to pet the dog named Diesel, the dog attacked and bit his upper lip. The dog that bit Brooklyn’s upper lip and the tip of her nose left a lasting impression on the young model. Brooklyn shared that his trauma affected both his career and physical health.
“I LEARNED NOT TO UNDERSTAND ANYTHING”
Although Brooklyn has undergone multiple surgeries since he was attacked in 2020, he states that he has remained ‘positive’ throughout his recovery, has a long way to go, and that his followers and fans have provided him with a lot of ‘motivation’. “I just learned to love myself and love everything around me and not take anything lightly,” he said on his YouTube channel.
WANTS TO BACK TO WORK
At the end of the video, Brooklyn realized that he was a “happier person” and “has a lot to live for,” adding that he wished he could go back to work, but “is still going through surgeries.”
THEY SAID THAT HE SHOULD NOT SHARE THE LOOK
Brooklyn, who was 23 at the time, admitted that many people tell him not to post videos or photos of his face because of his ‘looks’. But she decided she wanted to be open about every step of the process so she could help others who might be experiencing something similar. “I know I look different, I know I look crazy right now with how swollen my face is, but there’s no point in hiding. I’m happy to share this and help everyone I can,” she said.
HE WAS CONCERNED FOR THE FUTURE
She admitted in an Instagram post after the attack that she was ‘scared’ for her future and wasn’t sure if she would ever be able to smile again. “It’s crazy how your life can change so dramatically in one second. I’m trying to stay as positive as I can about this whole situation, but I’m going to be honest, afraid of my future or if I’ll ever be able to smile or eat normal food again.”
SURGERY DONE SUCCESSFULLY
In the surgeries performed in Brooklyn, after removing skin tissue and a vein from his arm, they placed it on his lip in the mouth area. They then inserted a vein through an incision in his neck so that the blood would flow naturally back to his upper lip. After the successful operation, Brooklyn regained his smile. In a video she posted on Instagram, she asked a makeup artist to draw a line on her upper lip to make her smile look more natural.
