Back in March 2022, we reported that Disney was probably planning a new Star Wars movie with Lost and Watchmen creator Damon Lindelof. At that time, the information still came from a well-connected insider and gave up more official details waiting.
As is now known, the Star Wars project with Lindelof as producer extremely high priority at Disney. A director from the Marvel Cinematic Universe has now been hired.

Ms. Marvel Director Signed for New Star Wars Movie
As Deadline reports, Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy has been co-directed for the planned Star Wars film Damon Lindelof as co-writer obligated. It is not yet known who is involved in the script. Obaid-Chinoy has recently directed two episodes of the MCU series Ms. Marvel.
Unfortunately, there are no further details about the story of the new Star Wars film. The script is said to be in an early stage of development. However, Deadline states that this is the currently major new Star Wars film for Disney should act.
