Lost Ark’s new endgame system is so complex that you need a guide

On April 17, 2024, the April update “Darkness Unleashed” was released for Lost Ark. All Arkesia heroes are looking forward to fresh raid challenges and a new equipment system called Transcendence.

What can Lost Ark fans expect with the April update? “Darkness Unleashed” has the following highlights in its luggage:

  • Legion Raid for Thaemine, Legion Commander of Darkness – for heroes with item level 1610 or higher
  • Veskal Guardian Raid – for heroes with item level 1630 or higher
  • Chaos Dungeon Enlightenment Level 2 as a new activity for heroes with item level 1,630 or higher
  • Gear Transcendence is a new system in which players can enhance and enhance the base effects of their gear using ancient power sealed in ruins. More on that later.

    What is transcendence all about? The new equipment system allows you to increase the damage and defense of your endgame characters, but Transcendence is so complex that the developers have included comprehensive instructions in the patch notes.

    You must meet these requirements for transcendence:

  • The character must have “Upper Ancient Equipment” at item level 1,610 or higher.
  • You have to earn “Dark Fire” through the new Legion Raid in order to be able to transcend your equipment.
  • In order to reach the highest level of transcendence with equipment, you must master the new Legion Raid on Hard.

    • If you have a Dark Fire, you can accept a Gear Transcendence Advice quest in any capital city. They will provide you with assistance.

    How does transcendence work? You progress through transcendence by unlocking ruins for your equipment pieces. You can enter these ruins with their magical circles via the Transcendence UI. The goal there is to destroy the stone tablets using summoned elementals.

    When you have destroyed all the stone tablets (except the distorted ones), you release a seal and advance transcendence (your equipment is strengthened and you can tackle the next level of transcendence). The challenge becomes tricky because each elemental summon costs gold and there are different elemental powers and stone tablets.

    If you destroy an ancient distorted stone tablet, three other random tablets will be restored. So you have to think carefully about how you go about destroying all the stone tablets with the gold you have and the right elemental powers.
