The developers of Lost Ark have presented the third roadmap for 2024. First, it’s time to take a breather. Then all Arkesia heroes can look forward to the next big wave of content, with raid challenges, a new continent, and more.
What kind of problem is this? Lost Ark is a somewhat unusual case in some ways. Most MMORPGs struggle with the fact that content doesn’t get onto the servers quickly enough to satisfy a large part of the community.
The opposite is the case with the online role-playing game from Smilegate and Amazon Games. So much time-consuming endgame content was added to Arkesia every month that players repeatedly complained of fatigue and being overwhelmed.
How do the developers approach the problem? Generally speaking, developers often bring events or adjustments into the game with new endgame content that allow characters to be played to their current level of progress with comparatively little effort.
The team is also deliberately slowing things down a bit this summer. The July update went live with the motto “Chilled Summer”. In addition to the new solo mode for raids and dungeons and the epilogue quest of the Echinda story, the servers were also given new features and support systems.
Thanks to the newly published third roadmap for 2024, it is now clear that August will also be relatively quiet (via playlostark.com). Below, MeinMMO summarizes the most important innovations for Lost Ark in the months August to November.
The developers of Lost Ark are already working on the next MMORPG – here is the trailer:
Roadmap 3 for Lost Ark in 2024
What’s coming to Lost Ark in August?
Indigo Island: The new island is located off the coast of Kurzan, in the Sea of Gienah. It can be explored by players with an item level of 1600 or higher. There is a quest on Indigo Island that you must complete to enter the single-player dungeon “Underwater Cave”. The reward tokens from the dungeon can be exchanged for progression materials such as elixirs and more.
Maharaka Festival: The next phase of the ongoing in-game event starts.
Style book: This new feature allows you to upload your favorite character customizations to share with other heroes. You can also define favorites and save them as presets.
Comfort improvements: Chaos Dungeons are getting a new “Weekly Purification” mission system. When you complete a Chaos Dungeons with the Aura of Resonance active, you earn Purification Points. These give you access to reward chests with items that can come from Chaos Dungeons. This is intended to ease the grind of the Chaos Dungeons.
Bound Gold System: This new system allows you to earn additional gold through in-game activities that you can use for progression systems.
Echidna Raid Adjustments: The Normal and Hard difficulties of the Echidna Raid will be easier.
What is planned for September?
New Continent North Kurzan: It’s time to head north to explore the next part of the Kurzan continent. The Demon Legion and Chaos Guardians have taken over, and the revival of Kazeros seems imminent. Northern Kurzan is accessible to characters with item level 1600 or higher who have completed the Southern Kurzan World Quest, the Kazeros Raid “Overture” Prologue Quest, and the Epic Raid “Behemoth” Prologue Quest.
Class 4: The new endgame stage of Lost Ark contains a number of new content and systems – according to the developers, no endgame update for the western version of the MMORPG has been so comprehensive and radical.
New activities: Two new endgame challenges are coming to the game: Kurzan Frontline (hack-and-slash content similar to the Chaos Dungeons) and Kenuart Keep (new dungeon that you can tackle alone or in a four-player group).
Adjustments for equipment: Tier 4 accessories, engravings, and skill stones will function differently than their Tier 3 counterparts. Additionally, the Ark Bonus introduces a new system for character development.
General changes: The combat level cap will be increased from 60 to 70 and the squad level cap from 300 to 400. Also coming are class 4 gems, which, among other effects, include an increase in attack power and special effects on damage gems for support classes.
Behemoth Raid: The 16-player raid against Behemoth appears and tempts with class 4 materials and weapon transcendence.
Express Server: More jump-start servers are coming for new players, where character progression will be further supported by additional systems and events.
Yoz’s Mug – Season 3: The new season of Yoz’s Mug brings fresh legendary skins.
Ark Pass: The new Ark Pass will help you with your level and endgame grind.
What’s coming in October?
Aegir Raid: Aegir will be the next Kazeros raid you’ll be allowed to tackle. In the first portal, Akkan returns for a fight, and in the second, Aegir appears as your enemy. The Aegir raid features Tier 4 Ancient Gear that can be refined into Relic Gear and has the Ark Bonus System tied to it.
Removal of Thaemine – Number 1: If you want to complete this challenge and receive the associated rewards, you only have until mid-October.
And what is known about November?
Hyper-Awakening: There are hyper awakening skills that can be used with a separate key. The strength of their effects should be between the basic skill and the awakening skill. You can receive the skills as a reward for completing quests and strengthen them by fulfilling certain conditions.
Buzzling Island: A new island with the theme of honey bees is planned.
New companion skills: All companions receive the new skills at random. They support you, for example, in your fortress, when using skills, on expeditions or when crafting items.
What do you think of Lost Ark’s more relaxed approach? Are you looking forward to the upcoming content? Let us know in the comments! Incidentally, we had the opportunity to ask Amazon Games a few questions in May: Player fatigue remains a problem in Lost Ark, but the Korean version has almost caught up with it
