Chat in Lost Ark and other MMORPGs is often hostile, sarcastic and not a pleasant experience, especially for new users. The endgame players of Lost Ark are now joining forces and simply want to be nicer.

What is the problem? With the big July update on the 20th of the month, the new Mokoko challenge appeared in Lost Ark. This ensures that new players can be immediately identified as such by means of an icon next to their name.

A problem in Lost Ark at the moment is that although there are many players, most of them are in the endgame. Meanwhile, really new fans of the MMORPG sometimes have a hard time connecting or finding real help when it comes to bosses and mechanics.

This often resulted in new players being greeted awkwardly in chat if they played “wrong”, as other players assumed they were experienced people.

Help is coming: However, since new players can now be recognized by their badge, this is changing. The Lost Ark community has therefore decided to be nicer. A large reddit thread is currently dealing with the topic and calls for exactly that.

The thread garnered over 1,100 upvotes and 172 comments in less than 24 hours. The author wants to encourage the community not only to use their knowledge negatively. He writes:

Player shares his experience and inspires: At almost the same time, user SirLulucious created a thread on Lost Ark’s reddit to report what happened to him. The situation warmed his heart so much that he just wanted to tell it.

The user then reports that he is on Gearscore 1412.5, just one successful upgrade away from the 1415 limit required for the Legion Raid Valtan. In the chat he sees two people talking about their secondary characters. One of them claims he now has his 4th character at 1,415.

SirLulucious joins the conversation and is impressed. He says he’s very close to getting his first character to that magical mark himself. All he has to do is farm some of the rare Great Honor Leapstones to complete the upgrades.

The strangers show themselves generous: When it becomes clear during the course of the conversation that SirLulucious only needs one upgrade to reach Valtan, one of the strangers takes action. He simply gives the thread creator 16 of the valuable Leapstones. Exactly as many as he needs for the experiment.

Some fans overheard the chat and are gathering to wish SirLulucious luck with the upgrade. Unfortunately, that fails, but he thanks the stranger anyway. Shortly thereafter, another stranger gives him another 16 Leapstones. This goes on until he succeeds and lands on Gearscore 1,415.

He writes, “These guys, these legends, are the reason I fell in love with the community.”
