After two rather quiet months, the biggest update in a long time was supposed to land on Lost Ark’s servers in September 2024. Now, however, Amazon Games has announced an adjustment to the roadmap.
What does the new timetable look like? Actually, those responsible had only presented the roadmap for the updates from August to November at the end of July 2024. However, they have now announced via playlostark.com that the schedule for localizing the new content has been delayed. Therefore, Amazon Games has to adjust the plans for the upcoming updates of Lost Ark as follows:
The developers’ update also states that in the long term they want to publish the API (Application Programming Interface) of Lost Ark for the western version. WoW, for example, uses such an interface to make privately developed add-ons or macro scripts possible.

The calm before the storm
What is the current situation in Lost Ark? Publisher Amazon Games continues to struggle to attract MMORPG enthusiasts to Lost Ark’s servers in the long term. Currently, an average of around 20,000 Steam users are active in Arkesia at the same time (via steamcharts.com).
A major problem that the operators had identified over the past few months was that many players were overwhelmed or overtired by the monthly release of ever new, complex endgame challenges. As a result, they deliberately put the brakes on in July and August and released relatively small updates.
On August 14, 2024, for example, the Indigo Island (with a new single-player dungeon), Bound Gold for certain progression systems, and a new mission system for the Chaos Dungeons were introduced.
