AIK fell against Björklöven after leaking like a sieve in the second period.
In three minutes they conceded three goals.
– Right now we feel like a rock’n’roll band where everyone plays different songs at the same time, says AIK coach Markus Åkerblom after the 5-1 loss.
Tipped shooting king Fredrik Forsberg presented himself at Hovet when he spun his up his AIK defender and put 1-0 to Björklöven in the first period.
A period where the Umeå team kept a firm grip on the baton and won the shot statistics with 8–0.
Dropped in three straight
After the break, the visitors continued to shoot and early in the middle period they made a real push when they scored no less than three goals in a little more than three minutes (182 seconds to be exact).
The last 4–0 goal came after AIK’s carelessness on the offensive blue line which paved the way for Liam Dower Nilsson who was left all alone with Viktor Brattström and made it 4–0.
“Never find in”
AIK’s Christoffer Björk put a reduction in the power play at the beginning of the third period, but more than that, “Gnaget” was not able to participate, but the match was won in the end by Björklöven, who have opened the season very strongly with free wins.
– We never find our way into the match, says AIK coach Markus Åkerblom in TV4 Play’s broadcast.
Next, Björklöven faces Östersund on home ice. AIK meets Tingsryd away. Both matches will be played on Wednesday next week.
