Peter Mullan (Children of Men) plays in the large cast of the Lord of the Rings series Dwarven King Durin III, the father of Elrond’s best friend Prince Durin IV (Owain Arthur). The Scottish actor was recently a guest at industry event Series Mania and, as Deadline reported, he didn’t hold back on stage when it came to breaking down the fantasy series to its essentials:

Even though Amazon’s Lord of the Rings series gives Peter Mullan a platform as an actor, his priorities are clear. He doesn’t take it as seriously as the hardcore Tolkien fans and even admits that he only took on his role as Yaxley in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows 1 so that his children could get on the Harry Potter set, although him Hogwarts “don’t give a fuck” was.
In season 2 of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, Peter Mullan is back as the dwarven king. If you believe his words, it will be Father-son conflict between Durin III and Durin IV deepen and sharpen further.

There is already a lot of speculation on Reddit as to whether the actor is no longer mincing his words because his character is in the (now crazy) new season did not survive. After all, the dwarf prince and his wife Disa (Sophia Nomvete) recently made their own plans for power. And Sauron still has a few more rings to hand out in the next eight episodes.
When will Lord of the Rings season 2 of The Rings of Power come to Amazon?
Amazon has not yet announced an official start date for Season 2 of The Rings of Power. However, it is received that the fantasy series is expected to be released in Fall 2024 returns to Prime Video, two years after Season 1.
