The First Descendant set a good start on Steam in 2024, but since then the number of players has been going downhill. Anyone who is still playing is currently being put off with sexy gimmicks.
What kind of game is that? The first descendant is a loot shooter for the PC (Steam), PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X | s. The game is developed by Nexon and was released in July 2024 as a Free2Play title.
After a very strong start – in the peak you had over 264,000 players – the game lost a large part of his active player. In the meantime, only around 11,500 players are regularly online (via Steamdb.info).
In a two-hour live stream, the developers present the Season 2 update for February 2025. Smaller adjustments and a place to “relax”
What is in the new update? On the side of the gameplay, there are adjustments to some weapons, new events, bug fixes and improvements to the void erosion purge. This should now feel more rewarded and be easier to handle. The exact patch notes can be found on tfd.nexon.com.
Players have to wait a little longer for larger adjustments. The problem that certain meta weapons are almost a must at higher levels of difficulty has not yet been tackled. This turns out to be complex due to the different strength of individual descendants, according to the developers.
The Albion Hot Springs are another innovation. In the hot tub you can relax with other descendants after a hard day. Appropriately, the developers sell freely swimming suits and bikinis in the in-game shop.
The hot tub including skins is not a big surprise for all those who are still pursuing the game: the developers have long been pursuing an increasing “sex seller” approach. The female descendants in particular rather attract attention through their appearance – and soon the physics should “underline” this again.
