“Look who else” – streamer sends away viewers who are too cowardly for her

YouTube streamer Rachel “Valkyrae” Hofstetter is fed up with some of her viewers interfering too much with her roleplaying in GTA 5. They are cowardly, says the 32-year-old. She already knows what she is doing with her figure.

This is the situation:

  • Valkyrae indulges in role-playing on the “NoPixel” server in GTA5.
  • Here streamers take on the role of fictional characters, such as criminals or police officers. Valkyrae plays “Ray Mond,” a 28-year-old Filipina who has come to Lost Santos to find her missing twin brother.
  • But some of Valkyrae’s viewers fear the streamer’s actions could jeopardize Ray Mond’s criminal career.
  • GTA 5 offers an excellent template for role-playing:

That is the conflict: Only viewers complain that Valkyrae makes bad decisions in GTA 5 and gives out information to people who shouldn’t have it.

Because that could damage their character.

Valkyrae says: Betrayal is what spices up GTA 5

This is what Valkyrae says: She reacts irritably to these comments from viewers. She says people are worried that she’s giving out information to the wrong people.

But she likes to spice things up. The more information people had, the more people could respond. You should let your character make mistakes, it makes the game more exciting for everyone. In GTA 5 everyone can figure everything out anyway.

None of the people she trusts with information will ever cheat on Ray Monde and even if someone does, that’s great. Because it adds spice to the whole action:

“I don’t understand why GTA viewers are so cowardly and demand so much from characters that they should behave perfectly. It would be so boring to watch someone do nothing but be perfect.”

She doesn’t understand anyone who wants something like that. The people who want something like that should just watch a grinder.

Role-playing games are not about playing optimally

That’s what lies behind it: That’s an interesting conflict. Role-playing is not about acting as well as possible and in your own interest, but rather about behaving in such a way that the overall story is as exciting as possible.

This obviously doesn’t work for “backseat gamers” who like to lecture a streamer in order to get the most out of it.

There are other forms of gaming than just chasing the high score and playing optimally.

The Twitch streamer Sodapoppin once had to experience the dimensions of the role-playing game in GTA 5, who got so involved in a virtual job in GTA 5 that it became far too much work for him in real life: Twitch streamer throws GTA 5 RP because a fake job becomes a real one: “It’s brutal”
