The 61-year-old Martin C. from Nieuwegein was convicted in 2001 of manslaughter of Sybine and rape of two other victims. On appeal, he received a prison sentence of 18 years and a TBS with compulsory treatment. The TBS measure has since been extended by a maximum of two years, mainly because the treatment did not work.
