SOS Alarm has longer response times than normal this summer. While the goal is to answer within eight seconds, the average time is now between half and a minute, reports SVT Nyheter Skåne.
One of the reasons is that many employees resigned due to stressful working conditions during the pandemic and that it has since been difficult to recruit new staff, says Sarah Hummerdal, press officer at SOS Alarm.
In summer, there are usually more calls to SOS than during the rest of the year.
– We have had longer response times over a longer period. This staff shortage and the pandemic effect did not arise during the summer. There have been difficulties even this spring, for example, but the summer gives another boost, says Sarah Hummerdal to TT.
