Before test results can show that the water in Björna is serviceable, those who live in central areas are asked to boil their drinking water to remove any bacteria, viruses and parasites. A strong boil should be enough. the water does not need to be boiled for a certain time.
The affected customers are properties in central Björna, including the nursing home Björnaborg. Here, Miva has set up a water tank with fresh water to make it easier for staff and residents. On the other hand, the nearest neighbors on Lillvägen, Marianne and Harry Westman, have to arrange serviceable water on their own or boil what comes out of the tap.
– We have had to boil our drinking water, but we have also fetched water from my sister in Leding, says Harry.
“Not so dangerous”
Harry tells us that he has not experienced them having to wait so long for test results before, but still takes it all in stride.
– It’s not that dangerous. We don’t drink much water so it’s fine.
