Malmö District Court sentences the men to five years in prison and five years and five months respectively. At the same time, a man and a woman are convicted of aiding and abetting the crime.
The woman helped by arranging a meeting in Malmö with the intended kidnapping victim in November last year. The man was then overpowered and stopped in the trunk of a car. The journey went to a cottage in the Osby area in northern Skåne, where the man was held captive for two days.
Using photographs has the prosecutor been able to prove that the man was both beaten and subjected to a sham execution, when his head was put into water.
After his brother was contacted by the perpetrators, he contacted the police. At one point, the captured man also managed to send information about his whereabouts, which led to the police being able to intervene.
The man, who did not want to participate in the trial, is awarded damages of SEK 90,000. All four convicts have denied any wrongdoing.
