London’s cost of living: 5 city hall fees going up in 2024

London’s 2024-2027 budget calls for a proposed $1.2 billion in operations spending in 2024 with more than $500 million of that expected to be raised through non-tax levy revenue, all just to keep services where they are. Reporter Jack Moulton takes a look at what fees Londoners can expect to affect their pocketbook in the new year.

PUBLIC TRANSIT

The London Transit Commission (LTC) is hiking fares by roughly 17 per cent in 2024, which for a single fare means $3.50, up from $3. Monthly youth passes for those 13 to 17 will also go to $72 from $61, and a monthly park and ride pass will cost $83, up from $70.
