London International Airport announced a new “plane spotting park” for aviation enthusiasts, dubbed YXU Air Park, on Thursday. The park, off Creamery Road, offers views of the airport’s most active runway.
“We hope YXU Air Park inspires young enthusiasts on a family day out at the park, and offers the dedicated plane spotting community a place to comfortably park and capture photos,” Scott McFadzean, the airport’s new chief executive, said in a statement.
The park includes an educational element, with plaques featuring London’s flying and airshow history, types of planes landing at the airport, and other information for flying fans.
Creamery Road, off Dundas Street, stretches along the eastern side of the airport.
