London airport offering more winter flights to Punta Cana Cancun

It may be hot summer weather now but London International Airport is already thinking about fleeing next winter’s cold for a sunny vacation.

The airport announced Monday that Air Transat will extend its flights and vacation packages from London for the first time with an earlier service starting in November and extending to the spring of 2024.

Air Transat will fly non-stop to Cancun, Mexico and Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. The flight will offer weekly service and increase in December to twice weekly to the end of April 2024.

“The London International Airport and Air Transat have had a strong partnership for many years and we are thrilled to see Air Transat extend their winter season in London for the first time.” Scott McFadzean, the airport’s chief executive, said in a statement.

“With flights now starting in early November and extending through the end of April, there is more capacity available to support the growing demand for this great service.”
