2024 was not his highlight

What does T1 say on the topic? In a Korean interview (via kukinews.com), Faker and his team spoke about the past year and their achievements within their careers. When asked about Faker’s favorite moment of the year, he answers the final match of Worlds 2024.

However, he criticizes his performance in 2024. He says there was a lot of luck involved and that he wasn’t completely satisfied with his performance. The entire team is asked what was the most satisfying year of their career. Zeus was not present at the interview and he will no longer play for T1 in 2025.

Gumayusi, Faker and Oner name 2022. The performance was best this year, even if they didn’t become world champion. Keria is the only one who names 2023. He says that their strengths were best showcased this year.

The surprising thing about the 2022 answer is that they lost to Korean rival DRX in a close final. In a best of 5, T1 lost 3:2.

What else is said in the interview? At one point in the interview you notice how highly the players value Faker. At one point, jungler Oner is asked how he overcame burnout. He then speaks highly of Faker:

We won the World Championship 2 years in a row and I was voted Jungler of the Year 3 years in a row. But when I look next to me, I see someone with incredible records and achievements. You can’t be too proud when you have Faker next to you and you can learn a lot from him. Even though I have already achieved a lot, there is still much more to achieve next year.

Faker, Oner, Gumayusi and Keria will play together in one team again in 2025. They have been playing together as a team since 2020. This is quite unusual in the e-sports sector. Due to the departure of Zeus, they have to start 2025 with a new toplaner: LoL: T1 brings in a well-known professional to replace their toplaner – Who is Doran?
