Tyler1 won at QTCinderella’s 2024 Streamer Awards. But not as the best streamer for League of Legends, but as the best chess player. The news reached him when he had just lost 3 games in a row in LoL. You can guess the reaction. Also: Two-time winner Asmongold loses his MMORPG Streamer of the Year award to Sodapoppin (WoW).
Who is Tyler1?
Tyler1 wins 3 prizes in 3 years, but this time for the “wrong” game
He has now won this prize: To the surprise of many, Tyler1 was nominated for the Chess category in 2024, winning against the Botez twins, Anna Cramling and GothamChess.
Tyler1 won the MOBA streamer of the year award in 2023 and 2022. In 2024, this category no longer existed.
QTCinderella said of his nomination that it wasn’t about the “best chess player”; but about entertaining streamers.
“I just lost 3 games in LoL, I swear to you: I don’t care so much”
How did he react? Tyler1 was alerted by his chat that he won the chess prize, but said he didn’t “give a shit.”
He is currently in a “3-defeat streak in LoL”. He could promise people that he didn’t give a shit, that he couldn’t care less.
Well, that’s what you get when you pull a gag and nominate Tyler1 for a chess award.
Sodapoppin hits Asmongold, insulting everyone at first
What does it look like in MMORPG? Sodapoppin beat Esfand and two-time winner Asmongold for the Best MMORPG Streamer award. Sodapoppin celebrated a triumph with WoW Classic.
As Asmongold noted, none of the 4 nominees were present at the awards ceremony.
During his award speech, Sodapoppin politely thanked everyone who helped him beat Zach (Asmongold) and his YouTuber viewers. He deserved the prize anyway. He’s been playing WoW for a long time and is very good at it.
Then he commented several times who could fuck each other and wished them a nice day.
These are the main winners of the Streamer Awards
Who else won?
German streamers were not nominated for any awards.
Due to the switch to YouTube or Kick, some previous winners such as xQc or Ludwig were missing in 2024.
You can see that there is much more to Tyler1 than pure words, even if perhaps not a chess genius, when you take a closer look at the two-meter giant:
