LoL: Riot Games accidentally deletes the last patch

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

League of Legends brings an update to the live servers every two weeks. However, in the last attempt to update the game, they managed to delete the entire last patch.

Riot Games wanted to bring the latest updates to the live servers. In the course of the trends from the professional games, changes were planned, especially in the jungle. Forgotten champions like Nidalee or Lillia could end up back in focus.

In patch 13.1B, the developers had already taken care of the mean kitty’s reign of terror and reduced its values. Above all, it was no longer effectively usable for professional players.

But it all took a different course than expected. Because with the start of the implementation of patch 13.3, all changes from the previous patch were revoked. At that moment, chaos broke out on the live servers and the leaderboards were locked server-wide for several hours.

What do the developers say about this? When the patch was deleted, all champion changes and item adjustments for the period leading up to the fix were also lost. These then still had the values from the beginning of Season 13.

When the problem became known, Riot Games spoke up promptly. They said they were aware of the issue and the 13.1B patch had indeed been removed. While they were working on a solution to the problem, ranked matches were not possible.

Yuumi is playable again due to a bug

But whichever way you look at it: Riot Games completely blew up the game with this patch. The ensuing chaos lasted several hours and many players had to wait to access the ranked games.

After the game was fixed again, patch 13.3 could go to the live servers. Here the players can then also try out the planned changes.

How do you feel about the whole story? Was Riot’s backwards orientation a nice refreshment, or did you wait hours to access ranked matches? Tell us in the comments.
